I spent my first white Christmas in Switzerland. It’s a place that’s so unbelievably beautiful that you wonder whether you shoudl pinch yourself in case you’re dreaming. I tried to capture a small portion of this beauty using my camera. The results can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/awhisperer/collections/72157625596879749/

One of the few photos I took on a Winters day excursion to Wynnum on the weekend. You could have been forgiven for forgetting it was Winter in Brisbane on the weekend. More shots can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/awhisperer/sets/72157624517495219/

The two Team Vodafone Commodores on track at QR.
Almost two weeks ago now I had the opportunity to attend the City of Ipswich 300 as a V8 Supercars media accredited journalist in my capacity as a Girlracer Magazine reporter. My focus for the weekend was on writing for my column, but I did get a couple of opportunities to position myself trackside to get a few shots. You can find the rest of my favourites from the weekend here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/awhisperer/sets/72157624030666652/

A #BrisbaneMorningPhoto from my own backyard. It’s been a while…but now that I’m running in the mornings again you can expect to see them more regularly.

My favourite photo from today’s photography class. Hope you like it! I learnt so much today that it’s going to take me a little bit of time to digest.

A photo from my last MTB ride. It was a little later when I went out today so I couldn’t really focus on going further (as it was if I’d come back any later I would have been in trouble as the visibility was almost non-existent when I did) but did try a different route. I took my digital SLR with me, which was a challenge in itself and the above shot is one of my favourites.

I’m an MTB convert. I’ve been on three rides in the last three days, taking a different route on each (the shot above is from after today’s).
I’m fortunate that there are a multitude of different trails around where I’m spending my Easter break. The scenery is incredible and the silence is golden. I’ve only had myself, a few birds and the largest collection of spiders in giant webs I’ve ever seen (some of which seem have ended up on me). I’ve been enjoying pushing myself harder and going for longer each day.
I’ll miss it when I return home after the break! There are no trails like these near my place and I don’t even own a bike…

A #BrisbaneMorningPhoto from the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens. I deliberately didn’t focus the shot because I prefered the effect it created.
-
A #BrisbaneMorningPhoto I prepared earlier. The view of Brisbane city from Mt Coot-tha yesterday morning as the rain began to roll in.

For those that don’t already know I’m part of a drag racing team called Humpy Racing. After a six month break we were back on the quarter mile on Saturday.
I’ve been taking been taking photos of the Team for many years now and this was one of the main reasons why I decided to buy my first SLR, which I got just before our last race.
I really relish the opportunity to try and find new ways to capture something I’ve been photographing for so long. I’m really proud of my efforts in the most recent race.
A couple of shots are above. The rest can be found on the Humpy Racing fan page (in album 2) (www.facebook.com/humpyracing) or on my flickr photostream (http://www.flickr.com/photos/awhisperer/sets/72157623381413321/www.facebook.com/humpyracing) or on my flickr photostream (http://www.flickr.com/photos/awhisperer/sets/72157623381413321/).
Hope you like them!
